Growing up in a small town in western Pennsylvania, Maxx Harr found comfort in horror movies of the 1980s. Falling in love with the art of gore, she became a special effects makeup artist, trained at the Tom Savini Special Effects Makeup Program in Monessen, PA. Earning an associates degree in Specialized Business, Maxx describes her style as non-traditional, adapting the horror elements she grew up loving to create her own spin on projects.

I specialize in the art of weird
Creating wounds replicative of classic horror films, incorporating the skin and its textures are a challenge that I love to tackle. Possessing an understanding of the anatomy and how the skin reacts to different injuries is an art that I wield under my belt. My primary message is finding beauty in any project, whether it be a traditional corrective makeup, or a bloody head bust, there is always beauty in a creation done by my hands.
Makeup is the art of making people feel beautiful in their own skin.

Before falling in love with the art of gore, I fell for being behind the lens first. I have been a published professional concert photographer since 2018, and I also do wrestling photography, combining my two loves together. I am available for both photography and makeup needs, beauty is always found in the art of both.
